This is gonna be difficult but Im gonna try to go bck to my bible reading plan. The things of God are so hard to do when we dnt remind ourselves of His love for us.
This revelation I had...Im sure Pastor mentioned it before but maybe it never stuck with me..
The ability for us to stick to bible reading, holy communion, going to church..anything related to God..isnt discipline...yes discipline is important but if we push ourselves to do it everytime..it would be as if we were forced..then I would see how upset God would feel if He had to force His children to follow His word.
He didnt force Adam to stay away from the tree of knowledge of good and evil..and he definitely doesnt force us now. he has always advised/warned/preamped His children and given them the freedom of choice.
Amazingly..the only one whom He probabaly gave no choice to...was Jesus. :)
That speaks alot...wow...
God never forced anyone in the Bible to follow His directions..He just warned them...some listened..some didnt and they got their brink of hte bargain from Satan.
But when Jesus asked God that "if it be your will, let this cup be taken away from me"
Honestly...do you think God the Father would have given Jesus the choice? Jesus sacrifice would be the only saving grace for mankind. If Jesus doesnt die...we would have no grace to save us from the wrath of the law and its repercussions.
So I dont think God would have given Jesus the choice..which means Jesus was the only person who was given "no choice" but to do what God told Him to do. :)
And back to my original msg...
The only thing that could drive any christian...to be consistent and loyal to God in action...is the constant realization that God is love and God loves us more than anything...that He is for us! :)
So while I try to go back into my devotions...I will keep reminding myself that the root of this devotion is Him and the motivation to know more about Him is from the knowledge of His love for me.
And if you think about it...the more you knwo abt God, the more you will fall in love with Him..and the more you fall in love with Him, the more you will be motivated to do stuff in His name...including read your Bible..do your devotions..etc etc...and the more you will love Him again...
So IT IS A POSITIVE ENDLESS CYCLE! Wohoooo!!!
:) :) :) Happy!
